Day 1 | Welcome to Crete!
Arrival at Heraklion city (or Chania)
Transfer by taxi to the hotel near the city center. Meeting with our representative in the hotel and delivery of the detailed documents for your trip (itinerary booklet and maps) and discussion on the trip.

Day 2 | Heraklion/Chania - Sfakia - Loutro
Breakfast and early departure.
From the hotel, you walk to the nearby bus station (you carry your luggage) and you take a public bus to Rethymnon, Vrysses –the yogurt village- and finally to the entrance of Imbros gorge from where you start traversing the gorge. You leave your luggage to the bus and our partner sends it directly to Loutro where you will overnight.
At the exit of Imbros gorge you meet our partner who will transfer you at the beginning of the next path towards Loutro, along this beautiful coastal path that passes along some wonderful beaches (2h30).
Arrival at loutro and settling into the rooms where you find your luggage.
Walking time: 5 hours in total | Elevation gain: 600 m.

Day 3 | Loutro - Marmara - Agios Pavlos - Agia Roumeli
After breakfast a beautiful coastal path awaits you. Leaving your luggage to our partner to have them transferred at Agia Roumeli.
From Loutro, you climb to a Venetian fortress, along the bay of Phoenix and you arrive at Marmara, a small rocky cove, which leads to the spectacular Gorge of Aradena. The coast then becomes rocky and continues to Agios Pavlos beach, famous for its beautiful Byzantine chapel built on the beach where Saint Paul would have landed. The trail finishes at Agia Roumeli, the village built at the exit of the impressive Gorge of Samaria.

Day 4| Agia Roumeli - Samaria Gorge - Omalos
Trekking into the amazing Gorge of Samaria, a geological heritage, full of earthy formations, endemic flora and special fauna.
When you arrive at the entrance of Samaria, our partner will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel.
Settling into the rooms at the Plateau of Omalos and resting.
Walking time: 5h00-6h00 / Elevation gain: 1200 m.
Note: hiking in the gorge of Samaria from the bottom up is not impossible, because the path is varied and progressive. Also, in this way you manage to avoid the crowds and there is more shadow tan when descending it.

Day 5 | Omalos - Agia Irini Gorge - Sougia
Breakfast.
Transfer by minibus to the chapel of Agioi Theodoroi, the starting point for the Gorge of Agia Irini.
You cross the green gorge and arrive at Sougia.
Another transfer is arranged for you at the end of the path till the hotel, in order to avoid walking in the asphalt.
Settling into the rooms where, again, you find your luggage.
Walking time : 4h00 / Difference of altitude: 1000 m.

Day 6 | Sougia - Lissos - Sougia
Breakfast.
Walking on a coastal path from Sougia to Paleochora passing from the wonderful and unique archaeological site of Lissos.
Return to Sougia.
Walking time : 3h00 / Elevation gain: 500 m.

Day 7 | Return to Heraklion (or Chania)
Breakfast and getting ready to leave the eastern coasts.
You can make a last trek following the coastal path eastwards from Sougia. Later in the day you take the public bus to Chania and then to Heraklion (4h30) (if you will head towards Heraklion).

Day 8 | End of the trip - Flight back home
After breakfast a taxi will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the airport.
